Keynote Speakers
APBP is excited to kick off our 2026 Conference on Monday, August 10 with an opening keynote panel featuring Pittsburgh, PA leaders in active transportation. The panel will highlight Pittsburgh's history, track record of innovation, and lessons learned after hosting events such as the successful NFL Draft — including insights on bike share, transit, volunteer engagement, and communications.

Mike Flynn, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), will be our keynote speaker on Tuesday, August 11. Commissioner Flynn will highlight how active transportation is central to an affordability agenda for cities across the country. His presentation will showcase successful projects and the growth of active transportation, including the surge in e-bike and micromobility use in places like New York City and Pittsburgh, where Flynn previously consulted on major bike, pedestrian, and transit projects. He'll also discuss ways to advance public space equity and broaden access to high-quality public spaces, initiatives that support delivery worker safety and resources, and new consumer-friendly ideas being explored in NYC. Plus, hear how New York City and New Jersey prepared for the FIFA World Cup with major walking, rolling cycling, and transit improvements!
