Please briefly describe your current position and how your work relates to the bicycle/pedestrian field: 
I work to create more walkable, bikeable places which is a perfect fit with APBP. I currently provide expertise to WSP’s Canadian Active Transportation Planning and Design services as a Senior Project Manager and Professional Engineer. I have 17 years of experience in the transportation field leading sustainable mobility, active transportation network planning and facility design and Transportation Demand Management initiatives. I’ve been recognized for my work at the municipal level in building more bicycle-friendly communities. I’m also author of Happy Trails: Biking and Hiking Adventures in the Greater Toronto Area.

Why do you want to be a Board member? What do you hope to gain over the term of your Board membership? 
I’ve been so impressed by this organization! I want to be part of the APBP leadership team to work with and learn from all of these top notch people, challenge myself to get outside of my comfort zone, and provide my unique perspectives to contribute to the organization and profession.

Please describe your goals for APBP and how your leadership on the Board will benefit the association. 

  1. Grow membership to strengthen the organization through a marketing campaign and communication materials that Chapters can use.
  2. Experiment with different communication and engagement tools, techniques and webinar formats for members to share knowledge and ideas.
  3. Find new ways to connect APBP members professionally to help them build support for the work they do
  4. Act as a liaison for Canadian members to ensure the organization remains relevant and their feedback is heard

  • Organized APBP workshops and exhibitor space at Ontario Bike Summit
  • Attended APBP Professional Development Seminars in St. Louis, Memphis (presenter) 
  • APBP Public Sector Professional of the Year Nominee, 2015 •APBP Member since 2013
